Running and the hills

I'm still running, almost every day, in the Howgills. Right now, with about 20 weeks to go, I'm making some plans to ramp it up so I am ready for the Northern Traverse at the end of March 2026.

Academic projects

I'm well into a systematic review and meta-ethnography on the primary care experience for people who use drugs. The In-BOAT randomised controlled trial is ramping up and should start recruiting in very early January. I'm also taking a dive into the photovoice methodology and wondering about putting a project together.

Random stuff that keeps me ticking

I've been reading the Mick Herron books (the Slow Horses author) and working my way through his back catalogue and I am now on the Zoë Boehm books. I had just finished Down Cemetery Road when, as a complete surprise, the Apple TV series was released. I've been watching some Laurel and Hardy films on YouTube and absolutely loved Sons of the Desert. And I've just managed to develop, at home, a couple of films of black and white photos taken using an Olympus OM-1. I don't have a home scanning set up so the film will have to go off to be scanned.
